Back in the saddle again! Hey I got two cards created at the most amazing evening last night! 6 of my bestest girl friends here in Des Moines and my wonderful friend Brenda (who drove in from MO) joined me for an evening of Copic coloring! I had a wonderful time! Did a little teaching and helping one on one with images both from my on-line class and images they brought to play with. Chatted and laughed a lot and in general had a very special evening! Thank you sooooo much ladies! The cards I completed are a complete side bonus, Oh and I made a note from the tooth fairy that was a little tardy in delivering the goods (oops!) but she made good by leaving a note with Copic colored image of herself and 4 quarters woop woop! Lori was the one waiting patiently for the note she lost her second front tooth and is sporting quite the gap now!

On to the cards here is one with an adorable Michelle Perkett digital image that she gave out free at her site! The card completes this weeks challenge “cute as a button” right up my ally since I am still slightly addicted to buttons 🙂

This second card is from Christy Croll’s collection with Stamping Bella they just started carrying them at Archiver’s so I could not resist! How cute and way to go Stamping Bella for getting on at Archiver’s! Not sure if this card will fit in at Christy’s on-line digital site Tiddly Inks but I sure will see if I can make it fit! He He

We have one last week of swimming two more weeks of diving and then our Oregon trip, one last week of summer than school! Yikes how did that happen!!!!!

Hugs all!

Hi one and all I have NOT fallen off the face of the Earth but I have not created anything new to share as of late and I just hate that! We had John home all last week, LOVE IT, and Patty and Charlie joined us, LOVE it and we spent a big portion of the week in Minneapolis for the girls big Birthday EXTRAVAGANZA! We had an awesome week from the Friday before all the way through the following weekend! i am determined however to get crafty this week! My class has gone well we are down to the last lesson on Thursday it has been a very big success and i hope to do another one just like it in the near future. The girl’s swim team has one more week after this one left and that will take a huge commitment off our plate for the remaining few weeks of summer.

I also wanted to share for my crafting friends a big release coming up this Thursday night you can get all the info HERE. Make It Crafty and Tiddly Inks have teamed up to share a joint set of digital stamps all being released in one big party. So if you are looking for a little fun this might be of interest 🙂

Good day all! I really do not have anything brand new to share scrappy wise but I thought I would share two layouts I did just a couple weeks back. Class started this week on-line so I am busy answering questions and setting up lessons to post. the hard work is done but this part still keeps me pretty occupied. The two layouts are from our Vegas trip last fall where I got to meet some of the most amazing women that I have known on-line for about 3 years. We had an amazing time, did a little teaching a little learning and a whole ton of laughing. The Copic images that are on the layouts are both from A Day For Daisies. The top layout has a photo of me taken by Amy and my friend Tami showing us her best :-). Below is Celia and then the group at dinner.

The girls and I have been good this week. Y-fun club in the mornings for the girls. Very fun and so easy since it is at the Y. Tuesday the girls swam in their very first swim meet. For their first they did extremely well! Not sure if we won anything yet but they had fun and swam hard. We were super duper proud of them! Other than that swim and dive practices are filling our days so we are moving right along!

Hugs all!

INKY FINGERS!! Yes this is a photo of my thumb which I am displaying proudly as my proof of completing the latest Copic class! Dare I say prize? I have to tell you that this class was amazing!! I loved every minute and I am so glad that Copic let Colleen and Bianca give it a go. I think they are on to something that has HUGE potential and possibilities. I am busy catching up and prepping for my Copic class starting next week but my head is spinning with ideas and insperation and a need to get messy!

This is a small accordion book I completed with Bianca. We colored 5v pieces of silk in different ways using Copic the top is a faux batik which I will be using OVER AND OVER! Love it and I want he whole book she has a breathtaking mini book coated in fabric and ribbon and just plain yum!

This pile – O – Tags is from the first portion of the day and we explored 10 different ways to start adding Copic to our mixed media and crafting projects. i will be sharing a few in more detail over at Get It Scrapped so stay tuned you will want to see these close up!

Lastly is our canvas, Colleen led us on this project and I loved the mix of think about this, try this and just go to it! The photo does not show off my “story” very well but the idea we were trying to fly with was taking a singular photo and going with it showing it through all the layers and all the textures and colors. By the way my story if you are curious is growing roots 🙂 John’s first question was where is the Copic? Good question so glad you asked! The bottom layer has my “story written or at least brainstormed in Copic marker, next layer up is a collage of 1 photo, magazines and tissue (which was crumpled with copic ink dropped on it) pieces of this layer were airbrushed with Copic. The sky and land are modeling paste died with Copic Ink and the photo has been drawn on with Copic, painted over with acrylic died with Copic and airbrushed with Copic. So is Copic in there, oh yeah baby!

On the family note the girls and John had an equally amazing day at the Children’s Museum. They dressed up as dinosaurs, created fashion for Barbie, and climbed a rock wall. We had a delicious meal at Rock Bottom (we were surrounded by good food and shopping) We could definitely do a trip back to Indianapolis!

More to come later this week 🙂

Hugs all!
