Here is another version of my Copic “new year” numbers. The layout is for the next round of One Month at a Time at Get It Scrapped. You can find the directions for the Copic new year numbers there as well.

The photos are from my birthday ice cream, gotta love Cold Stone. I think these shots of John and the girls will be the true indicators of our lives. I am not sure how many we have at this point looking just like this all snuggled together over Dad’s bowl of ice cream but it is a lot.

In the meantime the weather is holding tight with below zero at night and with wind that take it that cold during the day. We did however manage to get one snowman made though before it all froze solid and he is standing firm in the front yard as I type this.

Hugs!

I just could not come up with a creative title so I might just resort to dates from now on :-). this week has been a busy one as usual with activities and general life keeping us at a busy pace. The addition was a lot of snow on the ground and bitter temperatures. We almost had forgotten we were in Iowa but we are right in the midst of a more typical stretch of weather. Sara and I braved the weather two evenings (with Lori in tow) to sell Girl Scout Cookies for the first time. She did a great job and looks like she will achieve her goal of 100 boxes! We were lucky and were the first ones in our neighborhood to hit the houses. I think that just means we were the only ones nuts enough to brave the frigid conditions! On Tuesday I celebrated a birthday! My youngest brother said happy 33rd, hmmm… i think he is just a tad off but oh well. Our family celebrated with ice cream the Sunday before, an Ipod and some wonderful hand made gifts from the girls. I started the actual day teaching at the Y and being sung to then I had a wonderful lunch with my friend Tiffany at Cheesecake Factory, Thanks Tiffany! I finished this little layout playing at my friends Heather’s house on my B-Day. The sketch is from Sassy Lil Sketches again. I topped the day off meeting with Club Copic so lots of friends and fun. 39 is so fine and the Houghton’s here in Des Moines are doing very well!

2011 Starting off right!

Well here we are starting off another year. I am not sure how this one can top 2010 but I am sure excited to see all the new adventures. I am completing a year long challenge at Get It Scrapped with this layout. We completed one layout each month that summed up the month. kind of like a month in review. I am thinking about continuing the challenge myself it was so much fun and just using the sketches at Get It Scrapped.

I was also working on this weeks color challenge over at iCopic. The three colors were red, cream and brown. I drew the 2011 and filled it in with my Copics. If you are interested in having your own page of 2011 and 2010 to color I will have a tutorial ready at Get It Scrapped in the next week or so.
As for all of us here in Iowa we are right back up to our eyeballs in activities. Sara and Lori are trying Wavemakers this session which is a pre-team swim group. Woosh lots of swimming but they both did great their first night. Sara is back to diving and is the strongest in her level 1 group. I love watching her and how hard she tries to listen to ever little detail and correction she is given, she is an amazing little sponge! It feels like an Iowa winter at least for a couple days as we have had bitter cold for a couple days again. The season has been so mild though that it is hard to complain! Signing off for now.

Hugs to all!

Back Home

Well we are back home from an amazing stay in Denver! No surprises there, Grandma and Grandpa Weaver always spoil us. The girls and I played games, visited the American Girl store, saw Tangled, went to the Children’s Museum to celebrate New Year’s and in general had a grand time. John shot himself an Elk! Yep he went on a hunt and had a grand time as well in sub zero temperatures and waist deep snow, no joke! But came back to us with coolers full and a grin on his face. Before he left on his hunt we got in lots of great family time visiting with the Houghton siblings and families and even got a basketball game in and two Mexican food meals Yum!

So you can see we were busy and having a great time. The layouts above were from my quiet time in the evenings and are both sketches from Sassy Lil Sketches. Thanks Ladies!

Hugs to all!

December Multitasking

Well I decided to tackle three jobs at once and ended up with this fun layout that is awaiting photos. The funny thing is we are happily snow-less at the moment. This little snowman is colored with Copic markers and fulfills the current challenge at iCopic. The layout is based on a sketch from Scrappy Lil Sketches. To top it off it is a little prep work for my local Club Copic!

On the home front we just celebrated our first round of Christmas. With Dad on call next weekend and hitting the road with an already loaded down vehicle the following weekend we decided today was the day! The girls watched Polar express last night all bundled up in their sleeping bags and popcorn last night then opened up new PJ’s for the season. This morning they opened stuffed stockings and a few gifts under the tree. John got me a gorgeous new coat with a quilted hood. I love it and will be looking good this winter!

The rest of the day is open with a date night to finish off for John and I.

Happy ho Ho Holidays!
Hugs
