Weekend fun!

Well I do not know about all of you but I had a fabulous weekend! A very dear friend from Get It Scrapped came and visited me! Brenda is the first friend from my on-line home that I have been able to meet in person and boy what a treat. We spent Saturday at the CKC convention, shopping taking a couple classes, and then an evening crop. We had a wonderful time and Brenda is sweet, funny and I really had just the best time! The girls got in some golf with dad.

We all headed out on a long bike ride Sunday, about 8 miles, the girls did great and John and I are LOVING riding as a group!

Here is Brenda and I at the crop.

Here is a layout I completed at the crop. Simple and fun.

Here is one of the layouts I completed in my Misting Class, very fun and easy. I need to add some journalling yet but I love the page so far.

Coming soon more jokes! I know you have missed them! Lori earned a joke book at the Library for her reading this summer so I will share the goodness.

Hugs all!

Doodle round three and another sketch

Well the summer just keeps cruising along and the girls and I are keeping busy and out of trouble!
I will be teaching my Oodles for Doodles class over at Get It Scrapped one more time and then will be teaching two more classes this fall. If you have friends who scrap pass the info on if you will there is a special running on the class price through Monday the 12th! I am thrilled to be busy in that arena! I have a new friend coming to visit this weekend. Brenda whom I met on-line is coming to visit and attend the Creating Keepsakes Convention with me in downtown Des Moines. I am looking forward to a day of fun with my new buddy (new in person).

The girls’ day camp got cancelled for the week and they are stuck going to the YMCA with me in the mornings which has not gone well as predicted but unavoidable. We are making up for it in the afternoons and having fun crafting and playing.

Last piece of big news John and I got bikes woo hoo and now we can keep up with the two girly girls. We have already done a 4 and 5 mile loop and Sara and John went on another yesterday while Lori sat on the couch feeling puny and I made beds and made lunches (not my first choice!) Hopefully we will all get out tonight even though John is on call. We are LOVING it!!!!!
To finish here is my latest layout , another from Sassy Lil Sketches. Thanks Ladies!

Bill’s Boat

Well I managed to get all of LAST summers layouts done so I am officially on to fall. Good thing since last weekend I picked up the 200 plus photos from our trip to Denver this summer. So I am keeping going while I can! Here is another great sketch from Sassy Lil’ Sketches. I love how this turned out. It still might get a journal strip or two but I am lovin the title with the boat, and yeah I drew it and used my Copics on it.

Here is another from last fall, the title is hard to read but it says cool riders, the stickers are gold and caught the light.
Other news we are loving our summer. Lots of trips to the library, couple days in the sprinkler, in genral we really are doing well. Swim lessons this week are keeping the girls moving like they needed help with that and I handed over a STACK of photos yesturday that they could “scrap” so I think they are doing OK in the boredom arena.

New layout and tody

Thought I would share a recent layout. This is inspired from a sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches a fun site I just recently lucky enough to find.
The photos are from last fall so I better get a crakin! I got some catch up to do or I will officially be a year behind He He.

Not much news really getting stuff done. We did a tripo to the library and Sara came directly home and finished one of her three books. Yes a chapter book, I think I know someone like her! Hmmmm….MATT!

Hugs to all!

Weekend fun

One more card with Copics!

We had a nice weekend here in Iowa. We had a fun morning participating in a cancer walk for children with cancer. One of Lori’s classmates, Will, is battling a childhood cancer and is two years into a four year treatment. We went in support of him and others like him. The weather cooperated and we loved being able to be there for Will. According to Lori he is her future husband, stranger things have happened so I am not leaving it out of the realm of possibility. He has come over for a playdate and they have an amazing relationship.
We of course had our nice lunch out and then the whole Houghton clan packed it in for a POWER nap. Yeah big time!
I finished off the day with a little scrapping. A local friend came and shared my table and we played while John and the girls did their “scrapping” run for pretzels, looking at animals in Sheels, and a run through Build A Bear. (Lori’s B-Day list keeps growing) But here are two layouts from MY playdate!
