I really wanted to color as many of the images in this set as possible! They are so much fun and just screaming for color! So I started with this little guy and his marshmallow! I focused in on him and just the fire coloring him in no line coloring. Here are the colors for his skin and hair:

And here are the colors for his clothes, I did add a little opaque white on the moon on his shirt and some gold on the stars:

Then I colored up the little fire:

Pulled it all together using the new die cut for a silhouette of mountains:

Then more coloring! I layered a few of the stamps masking as I worked from the front to the back of the scene. Then colored the entire card front:

Once I had the card colored with all those Copics I used a charcoal pencil, white opaque pen, Wink of Stella and Stickles, for effects of stars and smoke:

Here is a look at the full image/card:

There are so many options with this set! I know it will be coming back out of my stamp baskets often!!

Christmas in August

Hello Dare 2B Artzy Friends and Fans! Another Monday has rolled around for me to share a little D2BA inspiration with you! Make sure you participate in this month’s challenge it is about as EASY as it gets sine it is “Anything Goes”! Yep just show us your D2BA creation and be entered to win a prize!

I am doing a little pre-holiday card making today. I do not do a lot of handmade cards, just can’t figure out when to put the time in, but I make several and send them out to a few family and friends that I know will appreciate them!

I used the Totally Tracy Holly X-Mas set and colored it up with my Copic markers.

I added it to a card with some beautiful D2BA patterned papers! And several leftover scraps of bling:

Here is a closer look at the flower:

The stamping with masking took longer then the coloring, I love coloring these beautiful open images loosely, leaving them with a watercolor or painterly feel.

I hope you have had a chance to stop by the D2BA store over the weekend to see the amazing new products that just came out! There are stamps, dies and paper and all coordinate so well together you will have a hard time just picking one or two things!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Have a Happy Colorful Week!

I used the Foxy stamp set and colored up my image with Copic markers:

Then I did quite a bit of die cutting, I love the dies that match the new patterned paper!

I also used one of the newer frame sets along with the specialty die that creates this special fold and cut along my card front!

When you put it all together the front of the card looks like this:

And the inside of the card looks like this!

And here is one more peek so you can see whet that fold is doing!

Stamp AnnieThing Inspiration and Copic Wavy Hair

Hello Stamp AnnieThing fans and friends! Michelle Houghton here sharing a little SAT inspiration and another Copic coloring tutorial with the fabulous SAT stamps!

I recently got a request for a Copic tutorial on coloring wavy hair. Low and behold there are several SAT stamps that have beautiful long wavy hair so perfect! I chose a recent release Chloe – Pehea “Oer to share some tips and tricks.

I have a video in a link at the bottom of the post with a full tutorial if you would like to see the coloring in action, but here is a peak at what I do with wavy hair.

I color wavy hair in one of three ways so here is the same image colored with the same 4 colors 3 different ways:

1 – Loose – This quick and easy style shows the curl, but does not follow the artist’s lines so is simple and easy.

2 – From inside to outside – On this image each section is colored darker in toward the figure and lighter as you move out away from Chloe.

3 – Each wave – On the third image I worked into each individual wave. Where hair section dips inward it gets darker and as it curves away it gets lighter. This technique takes the longest, but also has some of the most striking results.

Here is a look at all three techniques side by side:

I decided to finish one up and get her on a card and here are the results and a closer look at the hair and skin:

Too Stinkin’ Cute

Morning friends, here to share a little Monday morning Dare 2B Artzy  inspiration.

We have a brand new challenge going this month and it is a easy as it get’s! Anything Goes! Make sure to play along for chance at some free D2BA goodies!

I am sharing another peek at one of the newest stamp sets over at D2BA with our adorable little skunk!

I colored him up with Copics of course, this time I used: BV20, BV23, C5, C7, C9 and Colorless Blender on the skunk, with touches of E53, E93, and E04 on the ears, feet and nose. The eyes I touched with YR24 and YR27. I used a little C0 and C1 for the cast shadow and B0000 for the faint halo. I brightened up the eyes with a single dot each of opaque white as well.

This little furry friend is sure adorable and I can’t wait to share the new furry folks that will be joining him for the fall release! You are going to LOVE them!

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure to check back each day for more D2BA creativity!

Have a Happy Colorful Day!
