What does that include? (this list is not complete, but here is what I have so far)

  • Class manual

What is not included?

  • Your marker sets. You will be required to bring your own markers to Copic College. I will post a list of colors when registration opens on January 15th **NOTE there will be several sets available for rental for the weekend, this is a great option if you are wanting to try Copic and not invest in the markers right away**

My first Copic College is:

Ankeny, IA – April 6-8th – Memory Bound Scrapbook Store

My second Copic College is:

Minneapolis, MN – May 11-13th – Hilton Garden Inn Eden Prairie

This weekend, January 5-7th this blog is getting a major facelift and my hope is to be working out all the glitches so that both of these classes will be open for registration January 15th! I will have a few more of the details hammered out including a marker list.

In the meantime if you have questions please ask! And if you have not subscribe to my blog and I will be sending newsletters when classes are announced and then open for registration!

Have a Happy Colorful Week!

Hark the Herald Angles Sing! Copic Bible Journaling

I am adding a couple extra posts this week at my blog and over at Copic In The Craft Room

Merry Christmas Eve to those who celebrate! Christmas looks a little different every year in our home since John’s schedule changes every year. This year he has a 4 day stretch of call that started Friday morning and will not end until Tuesday morning. Yeah it’s a little bit of a doozy! The girls and I have taken in a movie and snuck in a meal with John between his runs to the hospital. We will be celebrating our Christmas today the 24th and then might have to take in another movie on the 25th. In the meantime, if time allows I thought I would share a little extra art. No frills and not of explanation just a little love and joy from me to you!

I created this in my Bible and just love how she turned out. I have been waiting patiently to color her up with Copic markers

She is from Dare 2B Artzy and I just adore her. Here is a close up;

This is an image I know I will use again and make a point to try to pull out of my stamp basket to share. Now using Copics in my Journal Bible I do need a blotter sheet in between and although that protects the page behind the ink is still clearly on the back of the page.

She is still beautiful and I will find a way to use her on this page as well. I also got a quick shot of the fist full of markers that I used to color her up.

If I have time I will try to get one more post in tomorrow and then I have a video waiting to be edited for Wednesday so I am still trying to send you all some Copic inspiration. Thank you so much for your support and for stopping by!

Have a Happy Colorful Holiday!

Imagination International, Inc. Holiday Wish List Part 2!

So I was going to do a top 5 wish list from Imagination International, Inc. BUT there are just too many things I love about the products at III so I am doing a part 2 with 5 more things that I would put on my wish list. So you know, I am only putting items on my wish list that I use regularly! These are things that I pull out multiple times a week and some on a daily basis. So on with the crafty/artsy goodness! If you missed the first 5 scroll down or check them out on this post: Imagination International, Inc. Holiday Wish List Part 1

6. Kirarina Wink pens

I love these opaque pens! I use them on top of my Copics in a lot of situations, in particular small touches of opaque white. Small reflection in an eye anyone? They even have a little shimmer!

7. Is another Kirarina product, Kirarina 2win

Do you have a planner person in your life? You know who I am talking about , list making calendar toting highlighting fool? These are so perfect! They have 2 ends (thus the 2win name) One is a sketch pen and the other is a slightly lighter ink that is a highlighter! All sorts of fun colors AND scented, makes me giggle every time! It takes me right back to grade school! Mr. Sketch ring a bell to anyone out there? These are an upgrade and I have found myself even tucking them into my purse and every corner so they are always available for lists, notes and of course my planner!!

8. Sense Book. OK I know another paper source, but this one I use completely differently!

Sense books come in refill and non-refill varieties I have both and depending on who you are buying for both have their benefits. Why do I like them, I just like the aspect of different sizes, I have a small one for a prayer journal and medium size one (many of these) for all of my class notes, ideas, quick sketches AND lettering practice. And I love the variety of paper styles as well, they come in lined paper, blank and graph as well. The graph works brilliantly for my lettering practice and the blanks are super fun for quick sketches.

9. Nobby pencils

These are SO FUN. If you have a sketch artist in your life this would need to get bumped up to #1. These are chunky lead pencils that are perfect for drawing. They even have their own built in sharpeners in the lid. (Don’t forget the refill leads if this makes it into your shopping cart)

10. Tommy Art

OK so out of the list I have given you this is the one I do not reach for regularly BUT it is not because I do not love the product it is a time issue! I heart these paints and all the mediums that come with them! Tommy Art is a chalk based paint that blows the others right out of the park. You know how Copic is the #1 Alcohol marker well Tommy is going to become the #1 crafters paint not to mention DIYer and maybe even some mixed media artists as well! This line includes colors and mediums like waxes, coatings, pastes, transfer gels, sparkle and ohhh metallic! And they are continuing to expand the product line!

Woosh! I am ready to go shop! I hope this helps AND if you ever have questions please ask! I am on-line most days and happy to help!

Have a Happy Colorful Week!

Imagination International, Inc. Holiday Wish List Part 1!

All I want for Christmas is art supplies. Yeah I still love to color doodle and explore all things artsy! So I am creating a two part post telling you about my top 10 wish list items that can all be found at Imagination International, Inc!

  1. Copic markers (of course!)

If you or the one you are buying for has an ongoing wish list of “must have colors” this is probably right at the top of his or her list it would be the top of mine! Copic markers are an alcohol based marker that will blend just like paint! They are low oder, have replaceable nibs and are refillable. You can store them vertical or horizontal and come in 368 colors yes you are seeing that correctly ?

2. Paper! Yep if I am going to color I want PAPER! Two amazing options at III that I love:

X-Press It Blending Card – pricy but oh so nice. This is a very hard cardstock in that it is super smooth and is going to take A LOT of ink! You can add layer upon layer and not bleed beyond your image lines.

Copic Sketch Books that are manufactured right at the III warehouse are amazing as well! I LOVE the paper in these books a little bit lighter weight, but still takes a lot of ink! It is slightly off white and the books come in a plethora of wonderful sizes!

3. Transfer Paper! This is one of my absolute favorite NEW products from X-Press It. This stuff is amazing!

You can run it through your printer, use each sheet multiple times and comes in graphite and white to work on darker papers. Best of all it will not come off on your fingers or your projects until you want it too! This is NOT the old carbon paper!

4. Another product that is from X-Press It is their tape runners! These guys are the bomb!

After doing a lot of research they discovered that the refillable dispensers were using even MORE plastic then the disposable ones so this guy even though it is disposable is being Earth friendly! This looks like your standard tape runner but there are some neat features, the adhesive is great super sticky, all you have to do is lift to stop the tape, no pulling or dragging to get the tape to stop.

5. Copic Multiliners make my list as well!

I am a doodler as you know ? and in order to doodle and add all my beautiful Copic color on top of my doodles I NEED sketch pens that are compatible with my Copics. Multiliners fill the bill, they are completely compatible (made by the same company to work in partnership with Copic ink). They come in multiple colors and A LOT of different sizes! If you are interested in refillable ink and replaceable nibs check out the SP Multiliners.

If you would like a little less expensive pen that is disposable (they will still last quite a while look into the Multiliner. Both pens are sold individually and in sets.

If you have any questions on the products I have listed let me know!! I am happy to help AND I will have a part 2 with some fun different products for the crafters in your lives. I will post those on Monday!

Have a Happy Colorful Week!
