Wanted to share another card featuring the set. I started by sketching a bookcase around a few of the stamps with a pencil and small ruler.

I added ink since the stamp lines are black making sure that the ink is Copic compatible since I knew I was going to color with Copic.

Here are the Copics I used. I only used singular colors on the books. They are just small and I had a lot going so the coloring stayed simpler on this card.

And of course the finished card. The image was almost the full size of the card front so some simple layers to complete.

Hope you are finding a few Krafty treats that inspire creativity. Thanks for continually stoping by and inspiring me.

Have a Happy Colorful Day!

I am having fun coloring up another Axolotl today. A little more no line coloring with my Copics. I wanted to keep this little guy one of the lighter combinations that you see on line, here is what I used.

The challenge with lighter colors is it is hard to make the outline disappear. You can still see my stamped image lines.

That is where a background can sometimes help you out! Watch how the last of my pink outline lines disappear. Here are the colors I used.

I used a stencil from Kraftin Kimmie to create a beautiful oval around my axolotl and sentiment with a pencil VERY LIGHTLY. Then I filled it in with my blues. Here is a look at the completed card!

Hope you have found some favorites and must haves this month! Thank you as always for taking the time to stop/hop by.

Have a Happy Colorful Day!

Hope you have liked this months release and are already picking a few items to add to your Krafty space! Today I am coloring up one of the axolotl from the new set that I created. When Kim asked me to draw this set I have to admit I did not know what an axolotl was. I fell in love immediately, who can resist a little critter that is always smiling?!! Here is a peek at the Copic markers that I used on the axolotls on this card.

And here are the colors that I used to create the water effect over the axolotls.

Here is a look at the coloring, I did this image in a no-line style.

A couple layers to finish the card!

Thanks for stopping by remember that the release goes live today!

Today is our third day of Krafty Peeks for the July Release

from artist Michelle Houghton
 and it’s called…..

BAREFOOT BEACH!

We now have a new seaside landscape to add to our collection!! If you’re a fan, you’ll also want to check out the beautiful Majestic Mountains scenery and Desert Landscape sets!!

Check out BAREFOOT BEACH! in so many creations today as you hop around the Krafty Team’s blogs! You’ll also see the new stencils along the way!

You’ll see more of our July goodies tomorrow, and then everything will be released after our LIVE Online Release Party on Saturday at 12 noon ET in the Krafty Friends facebook group!

For now, check out all the beautiful projects in today’s hop!
See you tomorrow!

Thank you as always for stopping by! I have a simple card to share today using the Barefoot Beach image. I am using my Copics, but this time on watercolor paper. For those who have not tried it watercolor paper blends incredibly easy! The softness of the paper lets even harder blends turn smooth with ease. The biggest draw back is the absorbency of the paper. Watercolor paper is made to soak up moisture and it will soak up your ink as well. You will find you will use more than you normally would on a small image. I believe the effects are still worth it. Here are the colors I used:

A close up look at the Copic on watercolor paper.

A couple pieces of patterned paper and a card.

Have a Happy Colorful Day!

Desert Landscape – Kraftin’Kimmie June Release Peeks

Welcome back to Day TWO of our June Krafty Peeks!

Are you excited about what you’ve seen so far!?  Are you ready for more?

I hope your answer was yes because we’ve got more fabulous fun for you today!

The stamp set we are ‘peeking’ for you today is from
artist Michelle Houghton
 and it’s called…..

DESERT LANDSCAPE!

If you loved the beautiful Majestic Mountains scenery, then you will definitely love our newest landscape scene!! You can colour this up as the focal image – or use it as a background for your favourite characters! It looks amazing inside our fabulous You’ve Been Framed stamps as well!

Check out DESERT LANDSCAPE! and our new stencils in so many awesome creations today as you hop around the Krafty Team’s blogs!

You’ll see more of our June goodies all week, and then everything will be released after our LIVE Online Release Party on Saturday at 2 pm ET in the Krafty Friends facebook group!

Thanks so much for stopping by my little crafty blog today. We are mostly unpacked in our new home. We have celebrated (and continue) my youngest’s graduation from high school. And I have two more trips to make in quick succession before mid June so if you think I have been a little quiet, life has continued to flood this house and I am working on getting my head above water or at least trying to rebalance and figure out the new norm. I did some Copic coloring on Kraft paper this month. I actually like coloring on Kraft it has it’s challenges but when you get the hang of it it is fast and loose. Super fun for a change! Here are the Copics I used:

Because of the ink bleeding much further you tend to use less ink and fewer colors on Kraft. Here is a closer look at the coloring,

This photo is a little washed out. It is hard not having ANY white to help edit off of, but it gives you a sense of where the colors are laying and how they blend or sit side by side. The photo with the completed card below gives a better idea of the finished color.

It has been fun designing stamps with Kim and working with her is always inspiring. I hope you find some inspiration in this month’s Krafty release as well!

Have a Happy Colorful Day!
