New articles and layouts

Two fun new articles over at Get It Scrapped you might like to peek at.

The first is an article about using Modeling Paste on layouts, I had SO MUCH FUN doing this layout.  I think it is the beautiful faces in the photos but this one makes my heart happy!  Find more inspiration on Modeling Paste HERE.

There is also a new article about using forms of entertainment as inspiration.  As always I am floored by the thought patterns and amazing talent of this team.  I like what I created but “Holy Cow!” you need to check this one out the other layouts will blow you away! HERE

Happy Halloween everyone!

And the winner is!

Well random # generator gave me a winner this morning…

I entered 1 to 156 into the generator and it gave me back 116!

Congratulations KathyJH –  “Love your card – the design and colors are gorgeous!”

Thanks Kathy!  Now if you can use the envelope button under the “Follow Me” section to the right we can get you our beautiful new book!

**As a side note I want to make sure that I counted everyone!  I got a few e-mails that did not get posted and continued to watch my spam to make sure everyone got in the final count.  So rest assured you were counted even if your post is not showing!

Thank you SO much for all the support and kind words!

Fall Outings

Another layout and article over at Get It Scrapped.  This time the theme is Fall Outings.  you can read a lot more HERE.

Here is my contribution

And here is another layout that I used the identical products on – same paper line, same package of flowers, I added the burlap and changed the background colors to get the Southwest feel but this is a fall outing too!

I like how both turned out and both are favorite fall outings 🙂

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Adding Critters to your pages

Here is my next layout over at Get It Scrapped.  It is part of a article about adding critters to your pages.  I love the pin board that Debbie included and the symbolism of all the fun critters.  Lots of inspiration, to see the article click here.

We just had a great weekend with our little family, visiting the zoo, eating out and in general loving up on each other.  Now I better get a move on I have projects due, a house to clean and… you know life!

Happy Monday everyone!

Copic Blog Hop!

Good morning and welcome to a very special blog hop!  I am excited to announce my participation and publication in the new Copic Coloring Guide, Level 3: People!

Authors Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker have partnered up again with the team at Annie’s and some of the most talented artists and designers in the industry to bring you a quality publication packed full of techniques, theory, tutorials, and inspiration.  The 64-page book is the next step in the Coloring Guide series, offering information and educational material for crafters of all skill levels.

From the how and why behind picking colors and coloring skin to the tips and techniques for coloring hair to the helpful hints on how to create realistic looking clothing and fabric, this book presents information in an easy-to-follow format.

An included CD contains all of the hand-drawn images used in the tutorial section of the book, along with the assembly instructions for all of the projects, and a number of blank reference charts.

Each participating designer is hopping today to give you a peak at their favorite project from the book – and a chance to WIN your own autographed copy!
Here is one of the projects I have in the new book, the beautiful stamp is from A Day For Daisies.

To help kick off the celebration of the new book… each designer on the hop is giving away an autographed copy of the book…signed not only by Colleen and Marianne, but by the individual designer too!  Please comment on this post for your chance to win your copy of mine!  Commenting will be closed midnight Friday October 26.  Winners will be announced on the individual designer’s blog.

Michelle Houghton – You are here 🙂
Can’t wait for your copy?

Copic Coloring Guide Level 3: People is now available at many stamping and scrapbooking stores. Visit your local store today and ask about availability.  It is also sold through the Annie’s catalog, accessible online at Annie’s.

For those of you visiting my blog for the very first time please consider subscribing to my mailing list over at the right.  I only send out about 4-5 notes a year announcing the on-line classes I am teaching and the projects I am involved in like this amazing blog hop! In January I will be teaching a new Copic Ink Effects class and you could be one of the first to hear about it and get in on the early bird deal!
