I am thrilled to announce that I have been asked to join the amazingly talented team at Imagination International Inc. to teach Copic workshops. I love Copic and all that the markers and inks can do. I have been teaching live and on-line Copic classes and tutorials for several years now and could not be more tickled to be joining the amazing team that shares this amazing product.
If you have not been to my blog or seen my work before here are a couple recent pieces that I love:
I enjoy mixing Copics with other mediums. On this card the stained glass window is Copic ink on pearl velum, the stamp is colored with Copic and then foil and chunky glitter was added on top.
You might have seen my doodled apron in the past, I have been a doodler for years and adding Copic over gesso on fabric has given amazing results.
I have even dabbled in jewelry making with Copic and doodling again.
Of course what probably brought you here was my welcoming party that the Copic Team is throwing me! So on with the festivities here are the details and the links to all the team member’s blogs so you can keep hopping and having fun!
The Copic Papercrafting Instructor and Design Teams would like to give a colorful “WELCOME” to the newest instructor joining us… Michelle Houghton!
Michelle has done a number of special events and demos for us over the years and we are thrilled to finally have her on our teaching team. Michelle has a BS in Fine Arts and an MA in Teaching with years of experience teaching high school art, live workshops, and online crafting classes.
Michelle likes to work with a variety of mediums and styles, often experimenting and looking for unique and interesting ways to use them. We look forward to working with her and can’t wait to see her in action!

Congrats! I am really going to enjoy your blog. I like getting ideas of other places to use my copics. I have used them to color brads and other embellishments when I didn’t have quite the right color. But I also used them on dish towels for our camper to define them from the towels to go in the house. The possibilities are endless

Congratulations Michelle on your joining the team. Just by looking at your blog I am sure I will be spending lots of time here. I hid all my copics because I got so frustrated with them. Time to take them out again because I have found such great inspiration now as compared to when they were first introduced. Now that I am not teaching stamping, I can become a copic coloring student.
Oh WOW! I didn’t know you could use Copics on fabric. Was it a specific kind of gesso you used?
I have used both Golden and Liquitex brand I do not know that it would matter. If you try it just know that you can pick up some gesso on your markers. Just scrub them off on scratch paper as you go and they are good as new!
