Guest Designer at JBS

Hi friends!  I have the honor of participating as a guest designer over at Jenni Bowlin Studio this month!  I am having an amazing time playing with the JBS kits for October and to be honest I am having trouble stopping.  I was supposed to do a minimum of 3 projects and I think I am going to end up with 6-8 layouts and a mini album.  Can you tell I am having fun?!

Here are the layouts I shared for the first day of the month

JBS Layout 1

JBS Layout 2

JBS Layout 3

All of them have a close up or two on the JBS site and some more detail about the products and process so you can peek over there if you would like a closer look.  I will make sure to at least post a few of my second round of projects after they post at JBS as well.

Tomorrow or Wednesday I will post some work from Get It Scrapped tomorrow my class at Creative Passion begins and then this weekend I am off to play with my friend Brenda at CKC Kansas City!  Busy Busy me!  Love it!

Have a GREAT week!

!!!Copic News!!!

This is the one I have been waiting for!  I am thrilled to announce that I have been invited to teach for Imagination International Inc. Yes that is right!  Copic!  I will be the first in a new series of classes offered to Copic enthusiasts everywhere.  The department is called “Special Project Series” and here is a short blurb about the new program.

The Special Project Series is a chance for crafters to take project-based classes in which Copic products are used with a number of other mediums to create interesting, unique, and fun-to-make projects!  From journaling to drawing, and painting to jewelry making, the new Special Project Series will offer classes that will inspire and excite.  Classes will range in location, duration and price and will typically be one-time-only offerings.  Special Project Series instructors are the best-of-the-best and design their own favorite hands-on classes to give you an amazing creative learning experience.

I have two brand new classes to start the project off right and you can be among the first to participate.  I will be teaching a Mixed Media Apron class and Copic Doodle Bead Jewelry class.  Here is a link to see all the information AND get signed up!  I will be in the Kansas City area this first round.

Paperclipping Roundtable

I was lucky enough to be invited to visit with the crew at Paperclipping Roundtable today!  Noel and Izzy run the show and Jennifer Mcguire and I were guests.  The topic today was markers and using them on your pages.  Of course that is right up my ally and the reason I was invited to share on the show.  Here is a link to the show!

I even got to announce a new job I finally have permission to share.  If you listen all the way to the end you will get to hear who I am working for.  You will have to check back here to see all the details when the art department gets the logo all together and registration is up and ready to go but here are a couple preview pics!

Get It Scrapped CT Blog Hop

CTBlogHop-2013Welcome!  If you are just visiting for fun you have stumbled on the Get It Scrapped Creative Team Blog Hop!  If you are stopping by to check on the Copic Week at Creative Passion there is nothing new today but you can scroll down to see any of this past week’s posts.

A favorite article of mine this past year at Get It Scrapped was Ideas For Painterly Techniques and Looks on Scrapbook Pages. Check out the article HERE.  I love the variety of ways the creative Team members used paints on their pages, and really at heart I adore making a painty mess every now and again.  Paint under my nails makes me smile.  So I decided to add some paint on a layout of my own.  I actually painted directly on canvas with acrylics and added it as my background layers.  To me paint is such an amazing medium because I can match it to anything in my layout!

There”s more!

I also have the honor of sharing the work of one of my team mates. Welcome Deborah Wagner to Scrapweaver.com!

I love experimenting with color palettes so it is no surprise that my favorite GIS articles is “Color: psychological response” http://debbiehodge.com/?s=color+psychological+response&x=0&y=0.  I was inspired by the emotions colors evoked on the pages without the viewer having to read a title or journaling. For my layout, I used black for a masculine, dramatic feel; and orange to add a cheerful, carefree attitude. Of course, my nephew helped me a great deal by wearing these fun colors to prom!
