Copic Inky Background

Hello friends and family! Here for a little Monday morning inspiration.

Yesterday we started a brand new monthly challenge “Thanks” on the Dare 2B Artzy Blog. Make sure to get your project uploaded so you have a chance to win some D2BA goodies!

I have a new video for you today over on the D2BA YouTube channel. I created an inky background to go behind a beautiful D2BA die cut frame.

Here is a closer look at that background:

One of the things I love best about this die cut and this technique is I can easily change the colors in the background for the seasons and the occasion!

Here is a link to the video over on Dare 2B Artzy on YouTube:

Dare 2B Artzy November Challenge “Thanks”

Hello friends and family, I am hopping on today to share the latest monthly challenge over at Dare 2B Artzy. The theme is Thanks, you of course may interpret as you wish. A thank you card would be perfect, or a card for Thanksgiving mine is a little less obvious. I am currently thankful for a gift of time with a loved one.

So in honor of that thought I have a card with the new Cuckoo Clock stamp set. I used my Copic markers to color the image, I kept it really simple since the areas are very small.

Here is a closer look at the coloring:

Then I added a little sparkle and shine:

Close up on that sparkle!

And here is the card:

Thank you so much for dropping by today! The month of November is a good one to remember to be thankful, weather you make a note each day in your planner or on your calendar or even make a little list you hang on your fridge, make a point of it find joy and be thankful this month!

Have a Happy Colorful Day!

“Grab and Go” Release From Stamp AnnieThing

Hi and welcome to our first ever Grab and Go! Release Hop!
What is Grab and Go!?
It’s a well thought out (and jammed packed) themed subscription box!
We pulled out all the bells and whistles for this Wizard inspired theme box to get us all in the mood for the soon to be released Fantastic Beasts 2 movie!
If you are anything like me, and love anything Harry Potter related – than this box is for you!
~*~*~*~*~Because LOVE is a well stocked subscription box!~*~*~*~*~

Valued over $165, its quite a steal considering all you get inside!
Take a peek at the projects I made using the new release items and make sure to visit the other team members below too!  Meg and Stephen used ONLY items from the box, so you can see what you will be getting!

`~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I created a card using two of the stamps and the stencil that comes in the grab a go box. I also used my Copics and my Ink blocks from Stamp AnnieThing! So here is the full run down!

First I used the stencil and a craft matte to create an embossed brick pattern of Kraft cardstock –

Next I used three of the new Stamp AnnieThing ink blocks to brush over the embossed surface to create a weathered brick look –

I cut out the opening in the brick and set this layer aside, then I used 4 more of the ink blocks to create a night sky. I added an opaque white paint pen later to add a sprinkling of stars –

Coloring up the wizard and his magical beast comes next –

And putting it all together! Here is the full card as well as some close ups –

The whole team is hopping with our first Grab and Go box today so if you are up for a little more magical inspiration hop along!

Copic Countdown Card

Hello friends and family. A very quick little burst of inspiration for you today.

I created a little card for a good friend of mine to countdown days. I colored up  Stacey – #celebrate from Stamp AnnieThing and made a pocket for her to sit on top of with a slide out counter card.

I created a video so you can see all the coloring including the wood flooring that we did a little while ago live on Facebook.

Here is a quick peek at the finished look though:

Here is the little pull out, out:

And a close up shot of Stacey, she had some prepare work done on some freckles and you can see that on the video as well:

D2BA Holiday Rose

Hello and happy Monday friends and family. Bringing you a little D2BA inspiration to start your week.

This month’s D2BA challenge is “Fall” so make sure you take a few minutes and create a project celebrating fall to enter to win a fun prize!

Today though I am headed straight to the holidays! I chose to work with the Holiday Rose stamp set and my Copics as well as some of the new D2BA patterned papers. Here is a quick shot of the colors I used. Cindy made coloring easy she added cross hatching lines to show where shading should go.

Here is a close up of the rose so you can see the coloring, I added a little sparkle onto the berries as well. When coloring a stamp that has a lot of details like this one I look for sports to push pieces back and lift other’s toward the viewer. For example on the pine needles or evergreen boughs I used darker colors on the needles that are sitting to the back, further away from the viewer. This not only adds depth, it also allows the viewer to more easily too all the pieces of the image.

The card as a whole uses some of the beautiful new papers from the D2BA fall and holiday release. I added very thin borders of solid cardstock to define the edges of the busier patterned papers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! make sure to swing by the D2BA store to check on the latest additions and come back here to the blog this week for more D2BA inspiration.
