Stamp AnnieThing July Release Day 1

Yep it is time for a new release from Stamp AnnieThing! You are going to love the new stamps, dies and stencils. Today’s peek is a gorgeous stamp.

I love the flow of her hair and the sentiment. I started by coloring her up with my Copics.

I went with some no-line coloring and used the following Copic colors:

Skin – E11, E13, E15, E04, R21 Hair – R39, R59, V99, W9 Dress – E50, E53, E55 Necklace – BG23, BG49 Sky – B0000 Ground – YR12, YG91, YG95, YG97

I tried to match the sky color to the background paper and then imitate the ground to the patterned paper with the flowers on green. Even though it is not a perfect match it does give the same feel.

I want to show you an angle of the card as well so you can see how it opens. I am trying my best to try some new card techniques and learned how to use cutting files on my Brother Scan and Cut. (Big deal for this non tech girl!)

Any way this fun card base was a cutting file and worked just right for this pretty image.

When you have a chance check out the other Design Team Blogs, the Stamp AnnieThing Blog and Shop for all the new goodies!

I will have two more peeks over the next two days so make sure to swing back by 🙂

Have a Happy Colorful Day!

Dare 2B Artzy July Challenge

There is a brand new challenge starting today at the Dare 2B Artzy blog. For the month of July we are asking you to create a Birthday card! I created a shaker card with a birthday note on it. I used a full card front die cut to create the front of the shaker.

On Wednesday there will be a video of putting the card all together over on Copic In The Craft Room on YouTube.

I used the Shine stamp set to create the lettering and flower and of course added a touch of Copic!

My goal over the next year is to try a few more card techniques like shakers, so this was a new adventure for me.

Thank you for stopping by today. When you have a second stop by the D2BA blog and check out the other Birthday inspiration and then create a project yourself to share! We would love to see your work and besides there is a prize to be had!

Have a Happy Colorful Day!

Copic Peacock Feathers

Good morning friends, another card from the Dare 2B Artzy Be Yourself stamp set that I would love to share today!

I wanted to get colors that were close to realism so I used a photo for reference. The stamp has just the right amount of detail so I could add a lot of the colors that you would find on the real peacock.

There is still time to participate in this month’s challenge. Just use bright colors in your work and make sure to submit your cards!

The beautiful stamp set that I used is the Be Yourself set.

Copic Coloring Skin with Stamp AnnieThing!

Hi Stamp AnnieThing friends and followers! I am sharing some Stamp AnnieThing inspiration and a little Copic know how with you today!

Ann , of Stamp AnnieThing, has asked that once or twice a month I give a few techniques with Copics on her amazing stamps and so that is the plan!

Today I have the second part of coloring this adorable Diana-Let’s Do Lunch image. If you missed it, last month I was coloring her hair, today I am coloring her skin. Lot’s of people ask if there is a “right way” to color with Copics and my honest answer is there are some ways to color that make you more successful and some tricks to avoid messes. But most people over time adapt how they are coloring to what works best for them. Watch a lot of tutorials, try a lot of techniques and make it work for you. On Diana I show you how to color her skin 2 ways working from light to dark with is very traditional from Copic manufacturers. It tends to be how we start beginners, you tend to have an easier time blending and see the magic of Copics quicker. The second portion of the video shows coloring working from dark to light. Several people shift to this Copic coloring technique after they have been coloring for a while and some start right off the bat with this, as much as anything because the blending happens as you add each color and they like starting with the darkest shadow areas and mapping those in first.

I promise I will not always be this verbose in my posts. You can watch the video and figure it out and always make sure to ask questions, happy to answer! In the mean time here is how Diana ended up on her card!

And here is a close up on Diana so you can see her a little better as well:

Here is a link to the video showcasing the Copic skin coloring:

One of the details I love about this little stamp is her hair, for fun I changed the area above her headband to look like a hat, but you can also color that as her her with a headband always fun to make a stamp work more then one way!

Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure to come back for more Stamp AnnieThing inspiration!
