CHA Copic

So this is the last I will say on CHA at least for now 🙂  I did get to see several very wonderful friends including the team from Copic of course that is what I did not get photos of BOOOO!  How did I manage that?! I did say hello to Dina Wakely, Emily Pitts and Taylor of Taylored Expressions.  I had a blast wandering the show floor and seeing some of the new products coming out.  I made a few fun make and takes and rely did love the classes that I took.  Remember if you are looking for more CHA goodness check out the article at Get It Scrapped for an excellent round up of info! HERE

I have shared the Ranger classes and the Kuretake class but figured I better show you what I learned from Copic as well.  I took the airbrush class from Colleen and made 5 wonderful cards.  All 5 use the Copic airbrush system and were a lot of fun to create!2014-01-25 12.27.56

2014-01-25 12.27.21I also got to see the first 2/3rds of Marianne’s new class Tracing Memories.  The concept is taking a photograph, turning it into a digital black and white image and adding color with your Copics.  The effect is amazing!  I started my first image and then watched the other students continue on theirs.  Both beginners and advanced Copic artist would enjoy this.  It is very soothing!  No guess work on darks and lights.  You have the original beside you and the black and white image shows you the way!

Of course in the midst of all of this I was blessed to see my beautiful Sister in-law and her wonderful husband.  It was truly a joy to see both of them and spend an entire day just being with them in California.

We’ll see what happens next year!

Happy Monday!

Telling Stories

I am back from CHA with lots of stories to tell so I am going to do a few blog posts over the next couple days.  I also have had some fun goings ons at Get It Scrapped so lots of fun news to report!

On arriving in Anahiem I started right off teaching my very first class for Imagination International, the US distributor of all things Copic.  I had 5 wonderful Copic lovers come to play and learn all about my mixed media apron and to create one of their very own.  We had a great time!!

Debbie is starting a new series of podcasts all about sharing the stories that go along with our photos.  Often there is not a layout yet but just the plans for one and the story that you are ready to share.  Really it is just a group of us getting together to share our stories and how we might scrap them.  I got to visit with Debbie this past week about photos I took at Disney land with Lori and her favorite car character Mater and in the Car ride!

imagephotoIt was fun to talk about the adventures we had on our trip and in particular the lengthy journey we took to finally get to ride on the Car’s ride!  Of course talking through the adventure always sparks new ideas and new ways to look not only at these photos but others that might tell other stories that are related to the original.

Make sure to stop by Get It Scrapped and check out this new series.  It will make great listening during your own crafting time!

Click HERE to listen to the first podcast!

I will be back very soon with more details from CHA!

!!!Copic News!!!

This is the one I have been waiting for!  I am thrilled to announce that I have been invited to teach for Imagination International Inc. Yes that is right!  Copic!  I will be the first in a new series of classes offered to Copic enthusiasts everywhere.  The department is called “Special Project Series” and here is a short blurb about the new program.

The Special Project Series is a chance for crafters to take project-based classes in which Copic products are used with a number of other mediums to create interesting, unique, and fun-to-make projects!  From journaling to drawing, and painting to jewelry making, the new Special Project Series will offer classes that will inspire and excite.  Classes will range in location, duration and price and will typically be one-time-only offerings.  Special Project Series instructors are the best-of-the-best and design their own favorite hands-on classes to give you an amazing creative learning experience.

I have two brand new classes to start the project off right and you can be among the first to participate.  I will be teaching a Mixed Media Apron class and Copic Doodle Bead Jewelry class.  Here is a link to see all the information AND get signed up!  I will be in the Kansas City area this first round.

Paperclipping Roundtable

I was lucky enough to be invited to visit with the crew at Paperclipping Roundtable today!  Noel and Izzy run the show and Jennifer Mcguire and I were guests.  The topic today was markers and using them on your pages.  Of course that is right up my ally and the reason I was invited to share on the show.  Here is a link to the show!

I even got to announce a new job I finally have permission to share.  If you listen all the way to the end you will get to hear who I am working for.  You will have to check back here to see all the details when the art department gets the logo all together and registration is up and ready to go but here are a couple preview pics!
