Day 3 Kraftin’ Kimmie August Peeks

Today is our third day of Krafty Peeks for the August Release

at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps!

Today we are ‘peeking’ a fabulous set

from artist Michelle Houghton

and it’s called…..

FALL BREEZE!

We’re so excited to bring you this gorgeous set of leaves and beautiful sentiments that is going to be a must have Fall set!

So you actually got a look at the card I created in the banner above. I have been lucky enough to continue making a few stamp sets with Kraftin’ Kimmie and this is the next in the line up. I decided to use the maple leaf and go very detailed in the colors. I love fall leave and when they have the variation from yellows into reds. I found a leaf several years back and was coloring it with my Copic markers in a larger format so I decided to try to use similar colors for this smaller version.

Here is a look at the Copic colors that I used, the light green is the stem and veins, the blues are all in the sky and all of the other are on the leaf, mostly in dots.

As I usually do I left the card VERY simple so the coloring can shine through. Layered paper and cadrstock with a few small rhinestones to sparkle.

New No-Line Copic Coloring Video

How about a little no-line coloring today? I have a new video over on the Copic In the Craft Room YouTube channel. The video is featuring this month’s add on image from Kraftin’ Kimmie. With a minimum purchase this cutie gets added to your loot.

You might have noticed that the finished image is slightly different. I did a second coloring and the patches on the kitty are a little different as well as an added background! Here is how the background happened: Here are the colors I used on the kitty and the mouse,

I first sketched the background. I added a wood floor using one point perspective and added a rope rug in an elliptical shape. I started my sketch with pencil, went over the lines with a Copic Multiliner then after letting them dry erased the pencil lines.

Next was coloring the image I used the exact same steps on the kitty and the mouse as the video. (This is just stamped in black so it is not a no-line finished look.) The background has very basic coloring to let the image shine through.

A second go with the Leapin Lizards set for me today! I could not resist trying a rainbow chameleon. 😁 So I started with a series of bright Copic rainbow colors, notice that even though they are completely different color families the edges blend.

Then I added lighter versions of all those colors to create the rainbow that is behind the chameleon and of course changing his colors.

He He! Here he is all colored up, love how he turned out!

I kept the cad super simple clean with black and white so the rainbow really shines through. I continued the rainbow down onto the stamped sentiment, so fun that the letters were an open font so you can fill them. There are a few Krafty dots in the lower corner as well.

Kraftin’ Kimmie July Peeks Day #4

SOO I am of course doing a little Copic Coloring on my little lizard. I love that the sentiments allow him to be a variety of critters! This first one from me is an Iguana (at least the sentiment points that way)

I started by using this months new ink and a second color to create a soft background through the new stencil. Love these partial circles so many possibilities! I did let the background over the iguana. I knew 2 things: 1 – Kraftin’ Kimmie inks are Copic compatible so they will not blur or bleed and 2 – I was planning on a green iguana so even with the transparency of the Copics the blue and green inks would work under my coloring.

Very limited colors today! I used the YG series on the iguana, the E35 for the branch he is hanging on and then I used the multilines, white opaque pen (Uni Posca in the background) and glossy accents on the eyes.

Once colored I layered him on a simple card. The leaves I used the stencil to trace the partial circle on green cardstock, then cut them out and cut the smaller sections out of them leaving the leaf shapes.
